About Me

After struggling with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and chronic pain for 2 years prior, I left Australia for England at 17, wanting to look at something other than my bedroom wall.

I was working as a musician and studying part time, while spending every other moment in bed unable to live a normal life. Once I got to England, I was finishing my last year of high school online, and started working full time, where I met my boyfriend.

When I couldn't keep doing music because of Covid, I wanted something new to channel my creativity. I taught myself to sew and began to upcycle old clothes. Over a short period of time, I started to create garments from scratch, drawing my ideas directly onto the fabric, hoping it would all come together. I still haven't ever used a pattern or followed instructions on how to make anything. I also taught myself to crochet, so I could keep creating without having to get out of bed on days I can't find the energy.

Growing up in a creative family with parents who told me I could do anything I wanted, has made it easier to feel positive and motivated, when my health has stopped me from doing so much.

Almost 5 years later and I am still in England, but moving back home to Australia with my boyfriend later this year!

The IndysVintage Belief

Living in a society dominated by fast fashion, constantly consuming but hardly wearing, the fashion industry continues to be a leading cause of pollution.

IndysVintage creates unique clothing and accessories while also giving new life to forgotten and discarded materials that would otherwise end up in landfill. A no waste ethos means all cutting and thread leftovers are made into smaller items such as earrings and patchwork pieces.

By making thoughtful fashion, I hope to spread awareness about the enviromental impact of textile waste, and how we can all do our part to build a more sustainable future.
